If you have been a fan of Tweetbot app for Twitter on your Mac, then you will probably be happy to know that Tapbots has just launched a new version of the popular app. Tweetbot 3 for Mac is available beginning today through the Mac App Store. Tapbots says that it reworked the interface of Tweetbot 3 for Mac, building it from the ground up for Apple’s desktop hardware. There is more white space throughout, which aims to give the interface a bit more cleaner look.
Users will find persistent icons for the important Twitter features, including profile options, liking content, retweeting, and replying to tweets. Tapbots wanted to reduce the requirements for opening a web browser to handle some tasks, too, which means users will find new tools that take just a single-click to block a profile, filing a report with Twitter, or mute an account. And when a user opens a specific tweet, those aforementioned persistent options will show quick ways to reply, retweet, and more.

The sidebar on the left has been tweaked, too, showing users quick information regarding their follower count, links to their direct messages, search, lists, and the Timeline. It is collapsable, so if you just want to focus on new tweets as they stream in, you can do that, too. One thing of note: The new Tweetbot 3 for Mac autoplays content like videos and GIFs, and this is turned on by default. You can switch it off in the settings of the app, though. Tweetbot 3 for Mac is available to download and install now from the Mac App Store. It is priced at $9.99.
